Saran Goodswain, Archon and Scion of the Seventh Dawn, was a child of tragedy. Through blind luck (or perhaps divine intervention) she rose out of blood and snow to become one of Sharlayan's foremost experts on aetheric amplification.

personality
At her core, Saran is an academic. She thrives on learning, on digging into questions that refuse to sit still, and on sharing ideas with anyone willing to listen. Sheβs confident enough to lead when she needs to, but sheβs happiest when sheβs working alongside others. Collaboration feels natural to her, and she has a way of drawing even the quietest colleagues into conversation. She loves to talk, and once she starts, itβs easy to forget she was ever the shy child found alone in a foreign land. What most people never notice is the reason she keeps herself in motion. Her bright, talkative nature is genuine, but it also keeps her from lingering too long with her own thoughts. The past sits close beneath the surface, and staying busy is easier than letting old memories rise. Her warmth is real, yet it also serves as a shield, a way to keep the world from seeing how much she still carries.

lore
early life
Born in the southern reaches of the Azim Steppe, Sarantuya came into the world beneath a clear sky and a full moon. Her parents, Atlan and Davaa Orl, named her for that light, believing it a blessing that would follow her all her life. Their tribe was small but tightly knit, wandering as their ancestors always had. Saran was too young to understand the danger that swept across Othard, but she remembers the long journey west after Doma fell to Garlean rule. Most of those memories are soft around the edges, but the moment she first saw Coerthas remains sharp. Endless green fields rolling out beneath snowcapped mountains, a place that felt impossibly alive after so many weeks on the road. Her people settled there, hopeful that they had finally found a place to breathe and begin again. That hope did not last. The Ishgardians who lived nearby looked upon the Xaela with fear, seeing only scales and horns and the shadow of their ancient enemy. Suspicion hardened into violence, and the Orl tribe was wiped out before they ever had a chance to prove themselves. Only Saran and her younger cousin Sidurgu survived.
Found Family
After the slaughter of her tribe, Saran and Sidurgu were found by outsiders and separated, each sent down a different path. Saran was taken to the nearby Sharlayan colony, frightened and alone, with no sense of what would come next. That was where she met Evangeline and Remy Goodswain, an older couple conducting geological surveys for the Forum. They had no children of their own, and what began as temporary guardianship slowly shifted into something deeper as they grew attached to the quiet, sharpβeyed girl who absorbed everything around her.It was quickly decided that she would receive a full Sharlayan education, and she flourished in it. Learning came naturally to her, and she rose to the top of her classes within a few short years. Her aetheric aptitude was impossible to miss, and she was given specialized instruction to nurture it, eventually drawing the attention of the Studium as she neared adulthood.Over time, Saran came to love the Goodswains as her true family, and Old Sharlayan became the place she thought of as home. Even so, she never forgot Sidurgu. No matter how many years passed, she carried the question of where he had gone and whether he was safe.
archon
In her early teens, Saran began studying under Louisoix Leveilleur. He recognized her potential almost immediately and petitioned for her acceptance into the Studium, where she devoted herself to the study of aetheric amplification and manipulation. Louisoix trained her personally in the sage arts, and she showed a natural gift for healing and medicine that only deepened under his guidance.During her first years at the Studium, she grew close to Thancred Waters, a longβtime friend and fellow student of Louisoix. Their friendship slipped into romance for a brief, bright moment, but it ended quickly when Thancred pulled away. The heartbreak stung, yet Saran valued their bond too much to let it shatter. They chose to remain friends, and it would be many years before they dared to revisit what they once felt. When she completed her studies, Saran was granted the title of Archon and welcomed into the Circle of Knowing, the group Louisoix founded to confront the prophecy of the Seventh Umbral Era. After his death and the formation of the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, she continued his work. She partnered closely with Yβshtola Rhul on the island of Vylbrand, watching over Limsa Lominsa and its surrounding lands as primal threats began to stir.

Hi, I am Char. β‘ I have been deep in FFXIV for about six years. I do not roleplay right now, but I do plenty of gposing and whatever casual content I can talk myself into. I bounce between World of Warcraft and Star Wars The Old Republic too, depending on the week and my attention span. When I'm not in an MMO, I am usually playing something cozy. Fields of Mistria, Animal Crossing, The Sims, anything that lets me wander around and build little worlds. I love RPGs with feelings, so Final Fantasy and Mass Effect have had me in their grip for years. Dragon Age, Expedition 33, and Baldur's Gate 3 got me recently and I am still recovering.I read a lot. High fantasy, romance, historical fiction, anything with a good world or a good mess of emotions. Lord of the Rings, Throne of Glass, Game of Thrones, Six of Crows, all of that. If I am not gaming or reading, I am probably chasing after my two Shiba Inu puppies with my partner. They are cute, but they are also tiny agents of chaos lolI am mostly on bsky and Twitter and I poke at Instagram when I remember it. I have a strong commitment to advocating for marginalized and disabled communities so if that's not your cup of tea, my socials probably won't be either! Anyway, thanks for being here!

Honey Relanah never wanted a life of adventure. Now known to the people of the Etheirys as the 'Warrior of Light,' she continues to play the role of reluctant hero, hoping that the time will soon come to pass the torch and live a simple life.

growing up with few friends and isolated from the wider world, honey is naturally soft spoken and tends to keep her thoughts to herself as a default. she internalizes her feelings as well, finding outward expressions of emotion very uncomfortable.she thinks rather literally and finds acts of subtly a challenge. honey chooses to lean on her friends in the scions when making big decisions as she feels very much like the role of "warrior of light" is something she is not well-suited for.

lore
early life
Miah was raised in the South Shroud in a tightknit community. Before she reached maturity her skills attuning to the elemental energies around her were obvious and her mother became exceptionally protective of her for fear of her abilities reaching the ears of the Padjal in nearby Gridania. The result saw Miah never allowed to venture from home, often forced to remain inside with only books, music, and the elements to keep her company. This created a deep resentment toward her mother and strong desire to escape her home. She would often reach out to the trees and wind around her, communing with the elementals whose anger fueled her own. After years under the tight control of her mother, Miah eventually ran away with the help of her older sister, Masha, and the pair traveled together to Gridania. While told from a young age to fear the Padjal, perhaps out of bitterness, Miah immediately appealed to the Conjurer's Guild for entry and became a student of E-Sumi-Yan.It was then that Miah fully became 'Honey,' leaving her childhood behind and embracing a new future.
Scions of the seventh dawn
Honey had little interest in changing the world. She saw a future in Gridania; aiding the Conjurer's Guild, healing the sick, walking through the forest, filling her days with light and life. And, for a time, this was exactly what she did. She grew confident in her skills as a healer and made a home for herself at Stillglade Fane. But Fate, and the star, had a different plan for her. She knew nothing of the Primals, the great struggle between Zodiark and Hydaelyn, and looking back she likely wishes she'd never known. Meeting Scions Yda and Papalymo, just as her training under E-Sumi-Yan concluded, changed the course of her life and led her on an path she had no choice but to travel. Her early days as an adventurer were fraught. She didn't want to leave the Shroud behind but she also felt compelled to help those who could not help themselves. Day after day, mission after mission, Honey slowly became accustomed to life on the road. She leaned heavily on the Scions for guidance, growing particularly close to Tataru Taru, the Scion's receptionist and someone who never failed to make Honey laugh.
warrior of light
Following the attack on Castrum Meridianum and defeat of Gaius van Baelsar, Honey's role in the Scions was cemented and many looked to her at the Savior of Eorzea. While outwardly confident and accepting of this new position among the leaders and defenders of the city-states, internally Honey was frightened.Honey never wanted this. She missed her sisters, she wanted to go home. But that was selfish, wasn't it? Fate's pull to keep going, to walk this wanderer's path, kept her true to the expectations of those around her.In the months and years that followed, Honey experienced the highest of highs; lowest of lows; fell in love; felt the heights of grief... all in service to the Star. Her one great hope is that Fate's design will see her to rest one day, allowed to experience a simple life. But this hope is secret, a silence prayer she offers to the Twelve each night, knowing that it will likely never come true.
